Professional Development Workshop Series: Melissa Dollman, Grounded Truth & Showing Your Work
April 6 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Melissa Dollman will present her continuing research on expanding the conceptual uses of video annotation tools. It may be easy to find multiple examples of their use in the classroom, as a professional development aid for instructors, or for online marketing purposes. Alternatively, Dollman explores and will demonstrate how a tool might be utilized for interactive citation—from media-based final projects by students to more widely distributed documentary programs and films—no differently than the obligatory, specific, footnotes that underpin text-based published works.
Melissa Dollman (firstname.lastname@example.org) is pursuing her Ph.D. in American Studies and is embedded in Davis Library as a CDHI Recruitment Fellow, a Graduate Fellow on the Community Histories Workshop team, and an Initiative for Minority Excellence Fellow. Prior to UNC, she was a cataloguer, librarian, audiovisual archivist, consultant, intern, volunteer, adjunct faculty, exhibit developer, and researcher for a variety of commercial and public institutions.
